I like to say there was a heat wave in Matola, but it would be more accurate to say the two 2 Man Time Trial cooked up one hek of a storm. The storm may have actually been created by fast moving equipment.

It certainly was not an easy day. With a very strong wing from the South West clocking in at 43km/hr made life difficult. Lactic acid filled you legs so much that by the time you caught a tailwind your legs were dead. You worked hard for 54.1% of the time you were saddled on the route.

The day belonged to Tim Fair and Imran but more so to Tim. The Commissaire out on the road stating that this was the only team that caught and passed their two minute team up ahead.

The strongest team on paper was Jim-Zeca who clocked in a credible second. In the final 200 meter stretch a big double decker bus tried with a lot of difficulty to hang on to their slipstream. But they couldn’t unseat that flying squad.

Most unfortunate was Tim Born-Duncan. Tim suffered a puncture. They had to stop twice, thus causing them major time losses.

Ernst Prinsloo and Rafael fought back quite well after being passed. But the wind was incredibly strong. They bridged the gap they had lost before reaching Mozal but lost it again.

Jorge and Frankie did an amazing time. Staking their claim of the day. A podium place.

Werner-Richard rode well to keep Werner in the lead in the general classification.

Like Bruyneel and Lance would say if you want to be good you have to train in the most difficult conditions. Sean Kelly and Sean Yates would say this game is not for the faint hearted.

I think the group has sent out a clear message that the weather is not going to stop deter their riding ambitions.

The fastest man on the circuit currently is Zeca. The Leader is Werner Schofman.
